BRAvo of RI
Celebrating Our Sister Survivors of Breast Cancer via the Distribution of FREE Protheses
BRAvo is a group of dedicated volunteers who gather to knit or crochet a comfortable alternative breast prostheses for the woman of Rhode Island.
This fine team of devoted women meet on the first Monday of every Month at the Cumberland Library – Room 2 Hayden – 6:30 – 8 p.m. Our dedicated volunteers will teach anyone willing to learn how to knit or crochet – no skill required. All we ask in return is your help to either produce, stuff, inspect or sew a few pairs to help us maintain an ongong FREE supply for the women of RI.
Not every woman is eligible for reconstruction surgery following a mastectomy. The traditional prostheses are sometimes too expensive or simply too uncomfortable to wear. The FREE knitted or crochet version offers a wonderful alternative for those in need.
